Family run business
Woodlodge Nursing and Residential Home is located in Castlewellan at the foot of the famous Castlewellan Forest Park and provides a tranquil and relaxing environment for our residents.
Established over 30 years ago as a family run business our commitment to providing personalised and individualised care has made Woodlodge one of the finest nursing and residential homes in Northern Ireland.
Situated within 7 acres of manicured lawns, shrubs and trees the grand Georgian style building is steeped in history and houses the residential side of our home, while the adjoining purpose built building is home to our residents who require more nursing care.
Each area of the home has been designed and decorated to provide a home-from-home feeling for our residents and with a great deal of emphasis placed on ensuring that each one of our residents feels truly valued, we pride ourselves on providing the levels of care that every person deserves.
From the first day that George and Margaret Lavery opened the Georgian style doors of this beautiful building in the heart of County Down the happiness of our residents has always been, and will always be, our number one priority.
Operating to this day as a family run business the home is now managed by George and Margaret’s son Liam and their daughter Liz, with a team of qualified and dedicated professionals behind them. During your stay with us you will be cared for by a team of exceptionally competent nurses who are all registered with the United Kingdom Council for Nurses & Midwifery, along with a team of dedicated care assistants who will assist in your care.

On admission to Wood Lodge you will be designated a dedicated Nurse to care for your specific needs, along with a team of care assistants. This Nurse will have particular responsibility for your care, well being, and needs throughout your stay.
Working alongside our qualified nurses and care assistants we have a fantastic catering team who create beautiful home-cooked meals for our guests and a team of domestic staff who ensure that the home is constantly at the highest standards of cleanliness.
